Get your running shoes on! It’s time for LAP-A-THON, our most important fundraiser of the year. This year we are using PledgeStar online fundraising again to make online payments easier and to allow you the option to request pledges from family and friends. It’s easy and schools who use it typically raise twice as much as those who don’t!

What is Lap-A-Thon? Lap-A-Thon is our fall fundraiser for Prairie Ridge PTO. On September 22nd each class will get a chance to have a fun run outside of the school. For each lap run the student will get a bracelet. They can run as many or as few laps as they like during their selected time period. At the end they are treated to a popsicle. As part of Lap-A-Thon each student will receive a free school t-shirt from the PTO that they can wear on school spirit days and on school field trips.

Lap-A-Thon donations: In lieu of having school sales drives to raise money, we ask that families (and friends) donate what they can to make the PTO school programming possible. On average the PTO spends $80 per year per student. Asking for donations is how we make that spending possible.

Who benefits from your donation? 100% of our proceeds go to support the Prairie Ridge Elementary PTO, which provides a free school shirt to every student, teacher meals for conferences and holidays, classroom supplies, Enhanced Teacher Curriculum (ETC), Makerspace, school events, teacher grants, field trips and more.

Help us reach our fundraising goal of $15,000! The suggested donation is $50 but any amount is welcome.

Donating is easy! Using your computer’s browser:

· Go to: http://pledgestar.com/prairie

· Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”

· Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”

· Follow the instructions to register Runner(s) and add family and friends

If parents would like to come and watch or volunteer to help, can they? Yes, you are welcome to come and cheer on your child. Since we use the parking lots for the run, it is best to walk to PRE or park on a side street, but parking will be limited.

What should my child wear? Please have your child wear their all school shirt that they will be bringing home soon! They should also wear comfy shorts and tennis shoes.
