Lap-A-Thon

We are off to a wonderful start for our Lap-A-Thon! Don’t forget to create your account and send at least one pledge to earn a blow pop!

What is Lap-A-Thon? Lap-A-Thon is our fall fundraiser for Prairie Ridge PTO. On September 22nd each class will get a chance to have a fun run outside of the school. For each lap run the student will get a bracelet. They can run as many or as few laps as they like during their selected time period. At the end they are treated to a popsicle. As part of Lap-A-Thon each student will receive a free school t-shirt from the PTO that they can wear on school spirit days and on school field trips.

Lap-A-Thon donations: In lieu of having school sales drives to raise money, we ask that families (and friends) donate what they can to make the PTO school programming possible. On average the PTO spends $80 per year per student. Asking for donations is how we make that spending possible.

Who benefits from your donation? 100% of our proceeds go to support the Prairie Ridge Elementary PTO, which provides a free school shirt to every student, teacher meals for conferences and holidays, classroom supplies, Enhanced Teacher Curriculum (ETC), Makerspace, school events, teacher grants, field trips and more.

Help us reach our fundraising goal of $15,000! The suggested donation is $50 but any amount is welcome.

Donating is easy! Using your computer’s browser:

· Go to http://pledgestar.com/prairie

· Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”

· Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”

· Follow the instructions to register Runner(s) and add family and friends

If parents would like to come and watch or volunteer to help, can they? Yes, you are welcome to come and cheer on your child. The link to volunteer is below. Since we use the parking lots for the run, it is best to walk to PRE or park on a side street, but parking will be limited.

Back to School Night!

PRE PTO is excited for a new school year! This year we are happy to host Weenies and Paninis, Bryce’s Food Truck, and Kona Ice, starting at 4:30pm at Back to School Night. Stop by, grab some dinner, and enjoy some conversation with friends you may not have seen all summer!

Don’t forget to stop by our table to see what we have planned for the year, and take a peek at the all-school shirt design.

Orientation for Watch D.O.G.S. will also take place that evening at 5:15 PM or 6:00 PM in the cafeteria. If you are interested in participating in our Watch D.O.G.S. program, please plan on attending one of the sessions. For those who are new to this program, this is a way that male figures (father, grandfathers, uncles, etc.) can volunteer at the school. Come to one of the orientation times to learn more!

Goodcents Restaurant Fundraiser

Join us Tuesday, May 16th from 4-8pm for our last restaurant fundraiser of the school year at Goodcents on Midland Drive! Avoid the line, order online – this event will accommodate all day orders online and through the app using the code PRE. If you order in person, please tell the cashier you are ordering for the Prairie Ridge Fundraiser.
