For our December community service event, Prairie Ridge PTO will be organizing a TOY DRIVE benefiting Shawnee Community Services. Shawnee Community Services hosts an annual holiday party for families they serve and people line up for blocks to see Santa and get a toy. We will be collecting toys for them to hand out at the party. All toys should be in the $8-10 range, gender-neutral, for ages 3-11, and be unwrapped. They have also requested no weapons (i.e. nerf guns, etc). For more information about this organization visit https://www.scsks.org/

Students can also sign up to help sort and wrap the presents on TUESDAY, December 12th from 3:45-4:45pm. Please note that our younger students (K and 1st grade) will need to be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. All students will need to be signed out by an adult at the end of the activity unless other arrangements have been made in advance. The event will start with a brief introduction to the organization as well as how our work will make an impact. We hope students are able to draw a connection to the “why” we serve while we participate in the hands-on activity.
